lucspace | Hi everyone! The Canadian X-prize guys will have flown patches available after their flight(s) in October! Have a look at their site: http://www.davinciproject.com/beta/Store/StoreMain.html Luc |
mdmyer | Has anyone received their decal version of this patch yet? Mike Myer Humboldt KS |
oos | Nope. I have not even received a confirmation of my pp payment. There really should be a better customer service. It's similar to requesting signatures from the Astronauts. You never get a confirmation and when you receive it you almost forgot about it. Let's see what happens. Micha |
mdmyer | I did get an e-mail receipt from PayPal. I guess we can just wait and see what happens. Mike |
lucspace | Nothing here either. I'm just wondering if decals and pathces are yet to be produced... Luc |
TRS | Any news from anyone on receiving your decails? Nothing shown up in NZ... Cheers Craig from Auckland NZ |
mdmyer | I still have not received anything. I hope their flight goes better than their fundraiser program. Mike |
SGGCSCS | Is it time to alert paypal? We all paid and heard nothing about this Wild Fire decal or WF flown patch. The organizers should keep us supporters updated. Rod |
Robert Pearlman | I note that the flown patch is now listed as "sold out" on their website. You and I and everyone who bought patches were essentially donating to the project because we believed that they would be successful flying in space. I would imagine all funds received are going towards flight preparations now - hence the lack of decals or mailings. If the vehicle never flies, I would expect we would still receive the patches and decals (as they would have to be produced for flight regardless) but it doesn't surprise me if their entire team is concentrating on their launch, as their license expires on Monday and then they must show insurance moving forward... (for more, see this article from SPACE.com). |
Ann | Has anyone ever received the patch or decal? Ann |
mdmyer | I have not received anything yet. I hope that they make a flight and they live up to their promise of flying these patches and then sending them to the people who have sent their money in. Mike |
kyra | This may be a bit corny (its very corny), but this whole idea was from a first season episode (1965) of Lost in Space called "The Raft" in which they took an empty fuel tank from the Jupiter 2, put a balloon on it, and when it got to a certain height the rockets fired. In the episode it did not get them (Will & Dr. Smith) into space only as far as a suborbital flight !! (They intended going for interstellar via Procyon as a guide star, only a few light years short) Just a tidbit, Kyra |
TRS | any sign of anything for anyone here yet? Just checking through some paypal records and thinking humm.... Cheers Craig [This message has been edited by TRS (edited August 27, 2005).] |
lucspace | None whatsoever... too bad, as I really like 'patches that never flew', and it is an attractive design as well... Luc |
